So, I want to increase the payload my bed can carry. Instead of being around 2,000 pds, i wanna haul more, so my truck is more stronger. I have currently 3 leaf springs.

I have an 02 Gmc Sierra k1500, 5.3 V8, 4WD,K&N Air intake.

My question is, Shoulds i add a leaf, or get new leafs? If so, what type and/or what brand.
I would like to buy from an american made company=)

New leaf springs will not make your truck stronger

X2 on over load springs.Also air bag assist have come a long way since oil states rubber first built them in Arlinton,Tx.They sold the division to Firestone and the rest is history.

I gotta agree with 2COR517 add all the new leafs or airbags you want the truck is only rated for so much weight due to more factors than just the springs.
