Hey guys I just bought a 2008 Silverado Crew Cab Z71 and im a little new to this lift kit stuff haha I just ordered a rough country 7.5" suspension lift and was wondering if anyone has heard anything bad about it? Also does a lift that big wear ball joints/tie rods fast? Thanks

There is a member on here that is running that kit on a '08 Silverado and seems to like it. His username is Rockstar. I think you should have done the research before you purchased the kit but that's just my $0.02. The RCX 5" seems the be the best, but the 7.5" is just the 5" with a level kit and really really big rear block.

BDS, CST, Rancho and Skyjacker all make good quality and well enginnered lift kits. Sorry, but I'd send the RC kit back.

Also CST has a 8" lift for your truck.

For an 8" kit on a budget, I would go with Fabtech. It's marketed as a 6", but nets closer to 8" of lift. I got close to 7" out of my BDS and it's been an awesome kit. The RC kit requires you to cut off the droop stops due to extreme UCA angles, so your bj's are going to suck.

not trying to cause any arguement but your not going to find many people on here that like RC kits, i've had 2 of them and no problems with either or. i also was on a budget and they worked out for me the best and like i said i've had no problems with either i've installed.

I completely agree that their older kits are fine. But the kits for the new platforms are poorly designed. Take a look at the instructions for the 7.5" kit. RC's 3" kit has a well documented history of flaws. RC apparently doesn't make them like they used to.

Im have a 08 silverado z71, with a RC 5" lift and have had it on for about 5,000 miles have had no problems thusfar, i am pleased with the kit seeming it was what i could afford at the time. i have talked to someother people with the same kit on the nbs an they all seemed pleased as well. But i have heard nothing good about the 3" and not much at all about the 7.5" besides its almost the same as the 5". i would deff get some new shocks, RC's shocks are a little rough riding
