Other choices are Edelbrock, Carter, or Predator. Look at J.C. Whitney they usually have a good selection of carbs.
Carter came factory on GM's until fuel injection and TBI reared it's head.

Why the dislike for Holley's?
My experience with them on all brands of vehicles has been good.

I had the same situation. On Edelbrock's you can get tune up kits (jets&rods). I put in an 02 sensor and a guage from the Zone. Found out the carb was way rich and made adjustments over time. went from 13 mpg to 18 mpg and can still race the truck. my engines are all 350's. Recommend to anyone with pre comp. truck put in cheap o2 sens. and a ratio guage. tune up and go. send me email if questions.
Quadrajets are hard to tune. can't get kits either.
Don't take me to the bank, I could be wrong on some of this. see what others say. Since I was rejetting any way, I got my carb at the autofair for 30 bucks. 650 cfm 4 barrel. man. choke. :great:
