I have a 2001 LQ4 out of my 01 Silverado that needs a crank change I originally wanted to put it in my S10 Blazer but decided against it.

The engine originally came with a 24 teeth reluctor ring. And the crank I bought has a 58 teeth ring. I planned on going MSD and Carburetor. My question is will the original camshaft work with either reluctor ring or is it specific to the number of teeth on the crankshaft?

You need the 24 teeth, unless you change all the associated sensors.

I could be wrong; but I think I read where the 58 teeth is for marine use.

The 58 teeth cranks are out of the new model engines. Not sure about Marine use.
