Wow, I was just at the dealership getting the Captiva's windows tinted, and was out on the lot. The '13 LTZ's have a backup camera, and it shows in the rearview mirror...I want to retrofit my wife's 2012 one day with that!!!

Not taking anything away from the guys/gals with mirror backup displays, but if you like bigger, the nav radio uses the complete screen for display (if you have the nav radio installed).

My wife needs gps, but it's not in her car, I have looked at a couple of gps/reverse camera units. The camera attaches to the rear and talks to the portable gps wirelessly (is that a word?). You get the best of both, bigger backup screen, portable gps.

Do all LTZ models have the backup camera when you have the NAV package or was it an extra option? I just bought a 2014 LTZ with NAV and pretty much every option that came with it, yet I see no backup camera on the SUV nor a setting within the system. Is there a secret setting that turns it on/off perhaps?

It's deceiving. The manual talks about how to use it, but when I looked at the rear hatchback, there is no camera to be found. Must be a unique add on for some retail/rental markets. I wonder how easy it is to add one??

I know my LT the my link stereo with touch screen. I don't think up grade would be hard. They don't change harnesses much. Cheaper and eases confusion on assembly line. I just wish my car had a manual or DVD or something to tell me what I have! It didn't even come with key fob! I had to call on star to find out that I had remote start! So for now I use my phone till fob comes in. I just hope they ordered the right one?

Funny you say that (not knowing what you have).

When I signed up for the free OnStar trial, it took my VIN# and it claims my car is "AWD". Hmmm...last I checked, I thought the LTZ was just 2WD with Traction Control and that was it.

Yea from what I saw LTZ was standard with all wheel and it was an option on LT. also remote start was standerd as well but an option on mine. But I had a sneeking feeling on mine with the remote start. It has a lot of up optons and was a GM program car. Hell the graphite metallic is a $225 option.
