Maintenance for 2003 Silverado

8215 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  wscsuperfan
I just purchased my first Silverado truck.......a sharp 2003 Z-71 extended cab with 36,000 miles on it. I am getting ready to do my first oil change on it and am wondering about other routine maintenance to perform at this time. What parts of the chassis should get regular lubrication and where are the lubrication points located? Anything else?

Thanks for any information!

Congrats on the truck. All GM trucks have anal front ends and like to have grease at all times. Every oil change I suggest to check all lube points on the front there are somthing like 8 or 10 of them. Make sure the boot is firm not leaking grease 1 to 3 pumps of grease should do it if it was taken care of propprly. Also bring the front up and check ball joints, wheel bearings and inner and outer tie rod ends for play, these are common wear points for these trucks. Check front and rear difs. and transfer case for correct fluid level. And don't forget, turn the accesories on and press the gass pedal 3 times to reset the oil light or use driver controls on the steering if you have those.
