I was living in Spokane, WA as a little kid on May 18, 1980 when Mt. St. Helens erupted and filled the sky with ash. I think we got something like a couple of inches of ash that fell and we didn't get to see the sun for something like a few days. I remember the streetlight outside our house was on all day long and it was sort of eerie-dark outside until it was all over.
