Looking to purchase one or the other. Inputs??
Hi Roy, I personally like the looks of fender flares but people behind me like mudflaps. My vote mudflaps and running board or stepLooking to purchase one or the other. Inputs??
I'm leaning to Husky Mudflaps #56221 Yeah I'm thinking it would do what I need.Hi Boys, Yeah I've crossed this bridge once, and still no solid choice, For me, I'd rather not drill anything. But that's going to be a steep hill to climb. But you, or in this case I'll have to cruise the net to see if I can find something that "Does it for me"
Looks sharp! I'm having a struggle inside me on which way to go.both have advantages, but neither has ALL the advantages. mudflaps are more for the guy riding his rig behind you, so its more of a "polite driver" choice, where flares are more for personal appearance upgrades and body mods...the "im doing this for ME" choice. the flaps are usually bolt direct useing existing sheet metal screws that attach the inner fender to the outter, but flares require you to pop holes in your fenders for mounting. i personally like my flares on my rig View attachment 61498
Haha, flip a coinLooks sharp! I'm having a struggle inside me on which way to go.
Yeah, I know the feeling. A couple of outfitters emailed as they don't show a full set fender fleer, and I don't like them for 2 reasons, 1. $595.00 2. On my truck I think it would make the regular tires & wheels look massively undersized. Now Mud flaps do what I need and cost is a He*& of a site better and Husky sells them a front and rear contoured to the body. I really think this it the best way to go. But I'll half to wait till it's about 23 degrees as it is now and the winters first snow.Really like the fender flares, but at $500+, probably go with the mud flaps. Unless someone here can make a really, really good deal! lol thanks for all your inputs!
Your first snow? You didn't get hit with the last one eh?Yeah, I know the feeling. Same here JTWard, checking out mud flaps as I speak, want a set with the most coverage. And yeh, it was -10 here this morning. BURRRRR!Yeah, I know the feeling. You have a good point, but right now $500 is a little hard to come by....i like my fender flares I think they help keep mud off my truck. although seeing the mud on my truck makes me smile and remember how it got there. lol i also like hearing it fly off my tires when I hit the road. hahaha, I always wait for any oncoming traffic before heading down the road. i live on a farm and cant help it. what I dont like is having it fall in my eyes while under it. besides washing is there any other way to help keep it off the truck or under carriage. I need a pressure washer, that's something I dont have. so if i put mudflaps on, that would help alot right? i always look at the cost of doing something vs not doing it. if it cost 500 for fender flares whats the cost of repainting chips ect... its probably worth the investment and there are different styles and prices of flares.
