Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and I have aproblem I have a 92 k1500 Silverado5.7 and my transmission just went. It's a manual the only problem is it was originally a automatic. I have the stamp from the transmission it's GM8679098 I typed it in Google and it comes up as a NV3500. But there so hard to find I'm not sure we're to look or if I should just replace a couple of the gears and overhaul it? Responses will be appreciated thank you

I know you probably think more threads equal more help but the truth is, all the folks who lurk this site are the same folks who will be helping you out. We all just hit the "new posts" link which pulls all new posts from every forum.

it is hard to find parts for vehicles this old. best thing to do is try and get parts to fix the manual tranny. parts maybe easier to find than USED manual transmission .. not many manuals were made .

There’s more than just one manual trans that will bolt up to that. Nv3500, t5 which is borg Warner then they got muncies but they don’t start making 5 speeds until after 2000. There’s hope
