I have an 05 Chevy 1500HD with 6.0L engine. I have a 3in body lift with 33s and flowmaster exaust. It has a poor alignment, I will soon to be getting new more street radial 33 tires with a new alignment. On average i am getting 10mpg... A freind of mine had suggested getting a k&n cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and programmer. Was wondering how much this will help me? And any other suggestions to help out on my mpg? :sign0144:

Welcome to the club. Don't waste your money on a throttlebody spacer (smoke and mirrors). Go with a Diablo Preditor progrmmer, you can adjust more with it, any good CAI will help alone with a good cat-back exhaust. Change ALL the trucks fluid to synthetics, engine,trans, and axles. Most of all go lightly on the gas pedal.

Making sure your tires are properly inflated can have an affect on your gas mileage. Also, removing any excess weight from the vehicle can help as well.

By smoke and mirrors he means it's a lie (like a magician who uses smoke and mirrors). Also are you calculating your MPG straight from the trip. If so it's not going to read right with those 33's. I went from a 16" rim to a 20" rim, overall they were about 3" taller, I have to add about 30 miles for every 300 I drive. I'm not exactly sure how to tell you to do this, I figured mine out with a bit of math knowledge and some deductive reasoning... And a gps.... I have seen somebody with an equation on how to do this somewhere around here.

And get it aligned how much mileage are you scrubbin off with a set of 33's outa whack

your programmer and CAI will most likely only get you 1-2 MPG, your stock tires were probably a 265/75/16 (31.5) so going up to a full 33 inch or a 285/75/16 (32.8) isnt gonna throw your actual mileage off that much, but getting it set to match the actual tire size will help. also going taller means the tire is wider so more contact on the road creating a little more friction creating a little more resistance. Your best thing is keep it under 2000rpm on acceleration from a stop. using the OEM plugs is also a must for vortec motors.
