I've loosened the tensioner pulley bolt. I can see it's moved a little, but the belt is still tight. Is the tensioner supposed to rotate out of the way?
My Chilton's guide just says to loosen the tensioner and remove the belt, but something isn't quite right here.
to remove a serpenteine can be done 2 ways....well it's actually one, but you can use two different tools to get it done with. First, you can take a serpenteine belt tool and crank the bolt at the pulley to the left to loosen it temporarily. The other way is to take a socket and ratchet and do the same thing. Don't worry, that bolt is reverse-threaded, so it won't loosen, only tighten when you do this. Good luck!
I figured it out shortly after I made this post. Thanks!
