Hi, I just had a new compressor installed on my 06 2500HD. Anyway, can anyone tell me what is causing it to make a light whistle almost humming noise. It makes the noise every once in a while, usually when giving her throttle. Makes the whistle sound for 10-15 seconds then nothing for a minute or so or until I accelerate again slowly.....................

Any Ideas what could cause it, if AC is turned off, there is no noise. It doesn't sound anything like the blower motor........................................?????????????????

I don't believe so, it sounds like it's coming from around the dash by radio, climate control area, wondering if it could be a problem in my cooling system, a pressure release valve or something like that, expansion valve or similar???

Best description "wetting your finger and running it round and round on a crystal glass, till it hums?" THAT's what I'm hearing, for a few seconds, then again, like 4 min later.................or if gas pedal gets depressed even just a bit!

I have a 1989 silverado and this same thing happens to me, I assume it is just the engine fans having to work extra hard when the ac is on while having to cool the car as well.
