I guess it's about time. My 2002 TB needed a new battery. Picked one up at Autozone for $49.99 this afternoon. Didn't have the right tools with me, but I swapped it out in the parking lot. Took me about 30 minutes or so.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had to replace their battery yet.

This was really the first vehicle that I have ever owned that had a battery that was as protected as it is in the TB. I mean, you have a cross-bar to keep it in place, then you have the battery box over it and on top of that it's bolted down with the flange-holder-thing. It took my no time to get it apart, but to get it back together (correctly) too me 45 minutes!

Plus, I dropped my 8MM socket and had to jimmy a way to get it out from behind the headlight assembly. Ended up using some sort of hook tie-down thing.

That sucks. I go into Arizona a lot, the heat kills batteries fast. I'm on #2.

Yeah, from what I understand, doesn't living in super-hot cities like Phoenix and Vegas cause your battery warranty to be voided?
