Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and I have a problem I have a 92 k1500 Silverado5.7 and my transmission just went. It's a manual the only problem is it was originally a automatic. I have the stamp from the transmission it's GM8679098 I typed it in Google and it comes up as a NV3500. But there so hard to find I'm not sure we're to look or if I should just replace a couple of the gears and overhaul it? Responses will be appreciated thank you

Welcome to the forum. If you rebuild the NV 3500, you know what you have when your done. It isn't that hard to do a manual trans. A performance 700R4 is a common swap and you can get one that is almost bullet proof.
