My name is Corbin and im from southern illinois. Ive been a chevy man my whole life. I have a 97 Chevy K1500 4x4 Z71 Regency package. has 180,000 on it but newer transmission and a 350 with long tube headers. Body is in decent shape has some bump and scratches. i have the rockers and cab corners stil! The hood has some deep scratches from a tornado that threw a piece of roof literally over my truck. thats the worse i got but my buddies f150 was totaled lol. But i am in the process of redoing some stuff on my chevy like new shift solenoids, new doughtnut gaskets, fuel fitler, spark plugs, and im sure plenty more other than the interior stuff. I wanted to ask if anyone knew of any cool/not extremely expsenive things to do to the ol truck and get her running like a monster. if anyone has anything feel free to comment on this. im sure ill be looking around on the forum for some interesting things. thanks for the time you took to read this!

I have been looking but a new k&n one is like 298 lol. I called there corporate number and they said theyd sell it to me for 235. Which is pretty decent. Do you know of decent truck shocks? I work at autozone and can get Gabriel ultra's for like 33 a piece. Been trying to fix er up so i can bring the beast back to its original quality haha

You know I'm pretty happy with my Ranchos as they been great both off and on the road. I also really love the fact that I can adjust the stiffness from inside the cab while driving, so it makes it super easy when I go from pavement to rocky trails. However, they are the only after market shock I've had, so I really have nothing to compare them to. In addition to the Ranchos, a lot of people on this site like Bilsteins too. There are several threads here in which people discuss in-depth on which shocks they like and why. Use the search function and check them out....

Good luck!!
