Hello,

I live in Los Angeles and have a 1999 white GMC Suburban 1500 with a 4 inch lift and black tinted windows. We love the beast but she is starting see some paint peels/chips in small circle spots.

I joined because I am looking for resources to help me cost effectively refurbish the beast starting with a paint job and looking for recommendations. The factory paint is generally in excellent condition with a deep bright and glossy shine except for the 4 chip/peel spots the size of quarters and half dollars.

I would be great to hear about others experiences and recommended body shops (SoCal) to check out as I am well aware this is a rabbit hole I am about to go down with repairs and upgrades.

Thanks for any feedback!

John

Howdy and welcome, John. I have streaks of peeing clear coat. It’s frustrating.

Welcome to the forum. I had my 97 Silverado repainted in Oct of 2013. Still looks as good as the day I had it done. Its a very cheap single stage paint job, but I take very good care of it. We have a fact-o-bake shop here, and thats where I had it done. I think maco paint shops do the same type of paint jobs. Trick is, to go see there work before you have it done. Here are a few recent pice of mine. White is an easy color to deal with. Changing colors is very expensive.
