just bought a 2005 silverado. 327 ext cab Z71. Sweet truck, except for one drawback...those stupid automatic headlights!!!!

Anyone know how to disconect them???

Are you referring to the Daytime running lights?

My 05 EC had the auto headlights and my NBS 07 EC also has them. Frankly I got used to them and actually like not having to worry about turning my lights on or off. You can always turn the knob to the off position.

Check your manual, different models and years have methods to turn off the automatic headlights.

For instance, the 2002 Trailblazer allows you to press the dome on/off button four times to turn on/off the automatic headlights.

still no luck...

I've tried everything...The manual off function, the parking brake, the dome switch...still not having any luck. I had a colorado with the same feature and the manual off function worked. Anyway,i'll be checking in from time to time, so if anybody finds anything out please let me know.

Look in yor DIC and see if you can turn off the lights in there. Something doesn't sound right if you can't turn them off with the light switch. Are you the original owner?
