Newbie from Dallas~~~Pics Added~~~Lift Installed!!!~~~More Pics

Going to pickup in two weeks when it gets delivered. This will be my first Silverado, Summit White 1500 Extended Cab Texas Edition, had to special order one to get bucket seats. I have been driving Nissan Titans since 2005 and have had an 06' Ex Cab with an 8" CST kit and a 2010 CC with a 4" spindle lift.

This truck will be getting the usual list of upgrades, intake, exhaust, lift, tires...Just need to see what the consensus best is and I will start the process.

Any advice on parts list I am all ears just send me a message.

Welcome to the club. Is your new truck 2wd or 4x4?

You said you had a CST kit on one of your other trucks, its good stuff so I'd us them again.

CST has a 4.5" and 8" lift for your truck.

:sign0016: Pics plz when you get your truck! IMO the best is Flowmaster (exhaust), Mickey Thompson (tires), Rancho (lift).... but its all up to your price range :money:

ahh who care about price...you only live once right...I have been going through youtube like mad looking at exhaust videos, I had Magnaflow on both of my other trucks but every body has been telling me that Flowmaster sounds best on these trucks. My new truck has a 5.3L so I don't know how it is going to sound. Are any of you guys using TBS and intakes and seeing results in the way of fuel economy? I had a TBS, Volant CAI and Magna flow exhaust on my 2010 CC Titan and I was getting 22.5mpg up about3.5mpg over stock even with 295/70/18. I will say that I drive like an old man pretty much never over 2500rpm and no faster than 70mph on the highway.

Welcome to the club Hooligan. Flowmasters sound nice too, but you've had Magnaflows & were happy with them so why change? The users who are recommending Flowmasters may have different tastes in sound, pitch, & decible range.

True, I just wonder how it will sound on a 5.3 vs 5.6 in the Titan. Do silverados have DI-DO or is it Single in and out?

.3 L is only 18.3 cu. in. so it shouldn't be noticeable. I don't know about the DI-DO, mine had SI-SO

Don't waste your money on a Throttlebody Spacer (TBS). There good for paper weights on your desk.

Does anyone know about running larger than 1" coil spacer with 3.5" spindles? the CST kit uses 1" but I am wondering if you could use a larger one to get more ground clearance with out using a bracket lift. Guys did it all the time on Titans but I don't know if it would work with Chevy.

I think the upper control arms will rub the shock/strut because of the steep angle. Thats why they us a bracket lift to go higher, the brackets keep the proper suspension angles.

well looks like she got in a little early, going to pick her up tomorrow. I got to drive her and she is sweet rides like a Cadillac, I will say that I don't think is has the stones my titans had but I think most of that is gearing in the BT Titans. I have the wheels, and spindles in the garage waiting for the Shocks and blocks to come in. Now I just have to figure out what I am going to do with the factory wheels and tires...

Welcome to the Club!!...and congrats on your new ride!!!

I LOVE the color of your truck btw. Regarding the exhaust, I have a 5.3 and am very satisfied with the sound of my Magnaflow exhaust (although I can't compare to a Flowmaster but have heard good things about them as well). My magnaflow has a nice rumble, not too loud around the neighborhood but has decibels when I put my foot into it.

Well here she is 10 days after I picked her up. I got rid of all the badging and I put 3.5" spindles on her and a 2" Leveling kit, ditched the factory 20's for some 18's and wrapped them in 295/70 Trail Grapplers. Word to the wise, get a bracket lift if you want to run larger than 33's and arent comfortable taking a sawzall to your fenders :). I had a Flowmaster Super 40 SI-DO put on and dumped it right after the muffler and it sounds great!!! This lift will do me just fine until Camburg comes out with a long travel kit. It drives great, almost too good for a lifted truck, I am defiantly going to get some coil overs here real quick.
