Well its been about 3 weeks since I had my trans rebuilt under warranty at 48000 miles. Two days ago I noticed a odd/weird clicking noise when coming to a stop from neighborhood speeds and right before it down shifted into 1st felt truck lurch and rpms lowered and raised then made a sound that reminded me of an old truck dieseling but faster. Kinda like take a 1/2 ratchet and turning it. It only lasted a second or two. I drove back around the block to see if i could get it to do it again and I was able to get the sound again. I'm not sure if it is even a trans issue but since it was just done I almost have to point my finger that direction. If anyone has ever had this or could point me the right direction I would appreciate it. I am going to crawl under and just look around checking for loose stuff shop may have left heat shields and what not.

I would take it back and have them check it out. I would get a copy of the service order when you take it back so you have a record so if you have any future issues with the trans.

Thought I would ask before letting the truck hang out at the dealership for another 2 days. Well i did crawle around and checked to see if anything loose but nothing that I could find. Have to see if I can get it to repeat again today so I know how and when it does it, but did make an appointment so its going back this week. Did notice when i was rocking the truck front to back in park looking and listening that the thing moves a ton more than expected. Like if top of wheel was 12 on a clock i can rock forward between 1 and 2 and vice versa to the rear. Didn't think there would be that much play in the drive line system.

It is a 4 wheel drive Bruce2....I did call my service adviser and talked with him about what was going on and what it was doing. Told him from start to finish when and how it does it. He did say the computer may still be learning my driving characteristics and could have just done something funny. The down shifting thing i can live with since they all seem to do it but when the RPMs raising and dropping below 500 and then the fast dieseling sound it made bothers me just a little bit. It did it two more times this morning after a good 30 minutes of driving so 3 times this week so far. I try to make it do it so I can duplicate it for the dealer but still working on that because I don't like taking something in unless I can make it goof up instead of them telling me we cant make it do it at the end of the day. Now its the hurry up and wait game.

Now if someone could tell me how to put images on here I could scan what they did and see if maybe they should have done more. Give me a better leg to stand on in the complaining department.
