I've got a 99 Silverado Z71 with the 16" aluminum wheels that came with the truck. Some of the clear coat is coming off and I want to make it look better so I've decided to paint most of each wheel to match the color of the truck (gold). I'm not sure how to do this so it will last. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I think Duplacolor has diy paint for wheels.

Are you planning on taking all the clearcoat off, right down to the bare aluminum?

the 1st question you need to anwser is " how much $ am i willing to invest on this?" and that will layout your possible options and effect the longevity of the finish.
you could get them powdercoated, have a shop paint them, or diy......but i would advise against strippping them down to bare aluminum or you'll need to etch prime them, then primer, paint, clear....and as far as spay bombs go, you get what you pay for (a $5 job might look good, but for how long)

My $20 dollar job has held up pretty decent. And I wheel my truck, so I've had rocks, mud, gravel and other crap hit them. I'll probably respray mine again, but they are doing good so far.
