so i noticed that my passenger headlight will sometimes be out, my fix is i go and tap on the headlight assembly and it will come on.. every once in awhile it will be out again...any ideas why it is doing this? thanks in advance

i had this problem on my 2000 suburban...i just changed the bulb for kicks and giggles and that fixed it...

Yep it's the bulb. Most likely the element is broke and when you tap on the assembly the element makes contact.

Just fixed this same problem on my son-in-laws car last weekend, bad element in the headlight.

Same thing happened with my truck, ended up the connector was damaged.. the "prong" (for a lack of better words) had become stretched out.. I took a small screwdriver and pried them back together and haven't had any problems since..
