Okay guys i need help here fast! i was driving my truck this morning and it all of a sudden started this horrible squeeking sound! I had my windows rolled up and i could even hear it over my radio. So when i got home i pulled my drivers side rear brake drum off and these things just so happen to fall out with it! Could someone here please tell me what they are and how to fix this? i also included pictures of the ate up pad just for reference. I really need help here because i have never messed with drum brakes before. and also my truck is a 2005 chevy silverado 1/2 ton z71 Auto part Disc brake Wheel Alloy wheel Rim

Nope the parking brake was completely off! lol i have no idea how this happened though. im guessing they are parts to the parking brake? Since this has happened though i put the drum back on with out repairing anything and my brakes are a whole lot more spongy feeling now that this has happened. The only noise it has now is the beat up shoe making a little noise on the drum.
