I have a 1994 Chevy k 1500 Canadian built it has a boat 200,000 miles on it the other day I was on my way home from work and all the sudden it just started to slip at 55 mph I got home checked the tranny fluid with the truck running in neutral and it was a little over full and the fluid was pretty dark so I went and bought a transmission filter and new transmission fluid change I was just wondering if I'm wasting my time and I should start looking for another transmission

When was the last time you changed it?

When was the last time you had the transmission flushed?

Doing a simple fluid/filter change does not remove all the fluid from the transmission as 40% of the fluid remains in the torque converter. To replace "all" the fluid you have to get it professionally flushed.
