Hey Everyone, Just wanted to share my experience a couple weeks ago with Power Chevrolet in Valencia, CA.

I've been looking around the past couple weeks at a new car, and finally found a car at Power Chevrolet in Valencia, CA.
I dealt with a salesperson that had been working at the dealership for a couple months, but he seemed like an alright guy.

We got down to business and talked numbers about the car and my trade-in, and finally came to an agreement on the price of the car, my trade-in, and my payments.
One of the conditions that was made: I wanted to keep the aftermarket stereo out of the vehicle I was trading in. They agreed to this, but they said I "needed to give them a working stereo to go in the vehicle I was trading in." It wasn't a big deal since the car I was buying already had an aftermarket stereo, so I planned on swapping it with my radio and giving them the old radio back.

A couple hours later, we finally signed papers, and I went on my way.
I came back the next day to give them the stereo that was to go in the vehicle I was trading in, and I was shocked by the reaction from the salesman. The salesman kept arguing with me saying I had to have the stereo installed in the vehicle I traded in. I told him that was not what we agreed to and that I was just to take the stereo, and he started cussing me out. "You've already fu**ed us over on the price of the car, you fu**ed us over on the price of your trade-in, and now you've fu**ed us over on the stereo. This is bulls**t.".

I was outraged by that statement, and immediately went to the sales manager's office. The salesman followed me in, and when I started talking to the sales manager, the salesman interrupted and said "Oh, now you're throwing me under the bus?! That's not fu**ing right.", and he continued to swear at me. Finally the sales manager told the salesman to calm down and go away, and he took the stereo from me and said they would take care of the situation.

About 15 minutes later, (I was waiting for them to wash my car since they didn't do it the day before), the salesman came back out to me. He said "I'm sorry for the way I acted, but you really pi**ed me off. I don't get that pi**ed off that often, but you figured out how to push those buttons. You really screwed us over on everything throughout this whole deal.." I started to talk to him, and said "I'm sorry..", but he turned around and started walking into the building and said "Go fu** yourself!"


The next day I was contacted by the finance manager and was told that the bank came back with a higher interest rate (double what we agreed on). He said I could either sign a contract for this interest rate, go find my own bank, or I could bring the car back. I told him I wasn't signing at that rate, and I'd try talking to a couple banks. 2 weeks later I ended up getting financed through my bank, but during this whole time, I never once received a phone call from the dealership asking what the status of the loan was. I've tried calling several times, but always got voicemails or was told they were out of their office. They never helped me find another place to finance with, and that deeply upsets me. However, they did not hesitate sending me a letter basically saying "The contract is void, we want our car back" today.

All in all, I'll never go back to any Power dealership, and am waiting to speak to the General Manager on the above issues (Again, I keep being told that he's "out of his office").

Ha ha, that's on them, NOT on you. It's the salesmans & the sales managers job to make the best deal for the dealership. It's not your job to lay down, open your wallet & let them have whatever they want. The salesman sounds like a loose cannon, & probably won't last long acting like that toward customers in front of the sales manager.

He's probably down the road slappin hamburgers at McDonalds now, so you'll have to email him there. No sales manager, CEO or dealer principle is going to put up with that from a salesman for very long. They probably fired his worthless carcass that same day.

** he might also be the new "lot boy" at the Ford dealership :)
