Power cuts out on start.

Hey guys,

My 2008 Silverado is having some problems when I turn the key. I turn the key to start, the power cuts out for a second or two then it starts. Sometimes I have to turn the key again and she goes. Any ideas on what I could be looking at here. I tightened and cleaned up all connections from the battery, alt, grounds etc. The radio clock sets itself to 12:00 but the presets stay.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need to get the battery tested.
I would have to agree that the best place to start would be the battery. If this does not seem to be the problem, I would recommend contacting your local dealership for more information. I can also look into this further. In order to do so, I will need the VIN and current mileage sent to me vis private message. Thank you in advance.

It ended up being a corroded positive wire between the wire and terminal connector. replace and problem solved. it was a bastard to catch it failing, but we got her. thanks for the help.

Hopefully you didn't take it to the dealer.......
