Can I press my lower ball joint out and preserve it for reuse or will pressing damage it?

Should be fine to press out and reuse IF you use the right size cup. Press around the edges where the metal walls come up to prevent crushing it.

Ultimately, it will be your call if it's broke or not when you remove it.

Personally, I would trash it unless you installed it a week ago and totalled the truck in some manner not detrimental to the front end.

If done correctly and not worn prior, you can reuse.

Jacob, thanks! They are new ball joints I put in about 3 mos. ago. I want to rust treat and coat my arms so they need to come out. For no more than they cost, if I end up in trouble, I’ll just replace them.
