Welcome to the site! Give us a little more info as far as what year and model that houses your 5.3 as there are a few on here that have programmers, and a few that lean more towards a custom tune.
2006 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 2 Wheel Drive
6' ProComp Lift w/ 3' Body Lift
Sitting on 20's with 275 x 35 Toyo Tires
I also custom mounted one of the baddest sterio systems you can stuff into this truck without it being seen from curious eyes in the window. (some cutting and modifications had to be made).
Oh and thanks to some one else in here I found the grill I am going to order on monday.(Chrome ABS Grille Shell Package With Billet Insert by Roadmax)
Will this help you help me in choosing a programmer?
Custom tuning I think would be something way down the road when I have way too much money to spend and I end up putting a turbo (along with lots of engine work after factory warrenty expires).
Nice looking truck! Why not go with a supercharger kit? That would make some ponies. Tell me more about your stereo set-up as I would like to put a system in mine in the future.
check out my post called NEWBIE is ME in the introducton place. If you have questions email me or send me another little message. I had to fabricate and raise the back seats an inch and a half to stuff the subs I wanted underneith rather than behind. Cutting factory bolts in half and making new ones isnt usually on everyone's agenda when putting in sounds. Let me know I'll tell you all about it.
Oh, every truck has a supercharger, I'm thinking turbo. But not sure about that yet. Anyway, back to which programmer is better! I want a quick fix for $500 or less.
I know there are a few on here that have the Hypertech and like it alot with the boost in performance as well as increased mileage. Mine's a whole different story because I'm not sure which programmer to choose for my Duramax. I'm thinking the Bullydog PMT.
I know Banks makes awesome stuff for Diesle engines. My pop's has an 03' Dually with the big @$$ diesel motor, with a banks Turbo, Edge Programmer and some other stuff. Anyway, I'm going to ask a few truck shops around here what they think is better for the gas guzzlers (hypertech or superchip programmers). I'll keep everyone posted.

That right there is one bad ass twin turboed chevy. The PMT is really nice. My friend had it in his PowerJOKE (blew the stock tranny, put in an ATS transmission, 1 Hour after he got it back his dad rolled it.)
Hello everyone. I am kinda new to this site. I have just reading threads for a while and trying to decide what to do with my truck. So many options out there. Wish I won the lottery! Since we are talking about programmers and I have not see anyone that I have come accross with a Banks Six Pack with the PDA yet. Mine should be comming in the mail soon...I hope! I did a lot of research on it and Hypertech makes some really good programmers but I didn't find one for 07 2500HD Classic Diesel that I really liked. My best advice is just to look and be honest with what you are wanting to do with it and get what you think you will be happy with. If you aint happy with it then what is the point.
It seems more and more people who own diesels are going with EFI Live. I have a Quadzilla Stealth2 programmer on my LBZ for now but there is so much more you can do with the EFI.
