In the 2000' Silverado Owners Manual.......A 2000" Silverado...Reg Cab 2wd with a 4.3L V-6 with Auto Trans and 3.73 Gears, has a Max Trailer Weight....Rating of......5,000lbs.....and the 6,000lbs you've mentioned is Dry Weight....add Supply's ie....food...cloth's etc.....your now closer to 6,500-6,800lbs.....your V-6 is Not going to be able to Tow this Weight Safely.

Honestly, You'll be able to tow it, but controlling it will be the biggest problem. If you are even going to attempt it, I would have airbags on the truck. Drive slow, plan ahead.

U.S. Tow rating are low. Look up the vehicle in Europe and see what it's rated at.

Your truck would be able to move the trailer but it would be a miserable experience. The slightest incline would have your engine screaming and a good highway cruising speed is pretty much out of the question, as is most any destination worth the haul, like the smokey mtns or anywhere out west. At high altitude, my dad's 2500 cummins started breaking a sweat with a 25 ft fifth wheel. I'd find a beater duramax for a tow vehicle.
