I have 2010 Sierra 1500 FWD. I am changing the rear wheel bearings. I pulled the oil seals and bearings and was surprised to see that there is another seal like thing in the axle. It was behind the bearing. It is pressed in. I think it baffles the oil flow so the bearings stay lubed when cornering. One of them is intact, unfortunately the other one is not. The inner and outer portions have separated. The pressed in portion is rigid in the axle tube and the inner portion is floating free. I can move it about a quarter inch in and out and side to side. This part does not appear in the parts diagrams.
What is this part called?
Is it replaceable?
Can I pull it out similar to the bearing?
