Hello. I'm swapping a 12 bolt into my 98 short bed. The spring perches have got me confused on the 98. They sit up higher the one on the 12 bolt. Will this matter. I will be replacing them with some off of summit the are just flat. They don't sit up. I can get pic if needed. Will it effect anything like the degree at which the rear will sit when I lower it on to install?

Depending on how much higher. You may need to address your driveline angle, or may have to get an sye. I don't think you will tho. You also will prolly need a rear axle shim set in the 2-3 degree range, depending. Measure your stock angle of the rear end and if it changes with the swap go from there.

That's what the shims are for. they come in different degrees. what's the difference in height of the spring perches from one axle to another? You can really eye it, the most you'd have to change the pinoin angle is like 1* on 1-3 inches. At the most. one inch wouldn't affect anything. imho. I've built many jeeps, it's the exact same. I actually lifted an xj 4.5 inches and didn't need an sye or any shims and it was fine.
