It depends on the quality of the cast blocks and if there solid. SuperLift has good cast blocks. We used probably over 1,000 and never had a failure. You can get them with or without "U"-bolts.

Instead of just telling you which to use, I will give an explanation. Aluminium is a softer metal, so it will loose shape and the center pin will become loose in the block over time. BAD IDEA. Good cast blocks are the way to go. Don't just go pick some up at an auto parts store, they are generic. Find a shop near you and have them ordered for your truck. Not a difficult part to find. 65 - 85 bucks. It should be blocks and u bolts. Make sure to torque them on final tightening. Not all vehicle springs and axle mounts are the same. Some have a curve to them some are flat.

I will chime in on this one about the aluminium blocks and they just are not worth it. Over the past few weeks I have had nothing but issues with popping and what not due to the pins becoming loose only after about a month. It has taken me this long and several posts to finally come to this conclusion. Had some 3" cast blocks from tuff country ordered looks to be a good product no pits or anything and heavy as hell. After spending a few hours (just me this time around) my thumpty bumpty noise is gone.

I ordered mine from sdtrucksprings.com just blocks only with 3 day shipping was only 59.00 and just the blocks where 32.00. Cheapest place I have found on a lot of products of this nature. Might be worth checking out
