I'm about to change the rear pinion in my 1995 gmc Suburban, now if i'm just changing the bearings do i have to realign the gears? i'm gonna be doin both carrier bearings and pinion and seal. Also anyone know what size socket it is on the pinion nut?
any tips or hints to help make smoother would be great

You didn't mention if you have a 10bolt or 12bolt differential housing. This article at PIRATE 4X4 has good general info, and some nice pics. One day I'd like to upgrade to an air locker. Let us know how that goes for you.
