1. Recently repaired heat by back flushing the heater core. Working fine.

2. Next job is to repair A/C. Clutch locked up and compressor not moving so going to replace compressor and drier.

Any issues with removing it first and installing later. I work so takes time to complete.
Will find a link for install and removal. Purchasing filling equipment also. No Freon in, leaked out.

Will cap off all lines.

Going to Rock Auto so need compressor, oil and drier. Anything else that should be replaced.

3. Next is to address rust(welding). Preparing 240v 40 amp 8 gauge system with an electrician.

orfice tube,& if you're sure it was just the clutch that gave up the ghost and the compressor didn't grenade, the condenser may be ok, otherwise I'm not sure just flushing will suffice, sometimes the condenser will need replaced. Check the orfice tube on the old set-up, if it's full of metal you may need to replace the condenser.

If you have rear ac, you need to plan on removing the expansion valve to flush the components.
I wont be surprised if the exp valve is clogged with debris from the compressor.

im almost positive being a suburban it does have the rear. i got a 99 tahoe and it has rear ac/heat. my wifes van has it as well and it got low on coolant one time and it wasnt as simple as adding to the radiator. had that bubbling sound so i found heater lines in the rear but no where to bleed system. why didnt they put a shrader valve on the highest point. smh

That's when Ray's trick of getting the nose high with a hill or ramps and opening the cap to purge out the air is a real life saver.
