Good afternoon all,

I had the two air bags replaced at 170k and am now at 284k miles. A neighborhood mechanic identified a sound that has been making me crazy that two shops failed to detect. Going over uneven surfaces, like a bad concrete driveway or even the garage when the rear wheels go over the change in elevation there has been an audible "click". This afternoon we figured it out - the air bag is "dropping" a bit to adjust the vehicle height as it senses a height differential then when it evens out the spring pops back up to the top, making a pop noise when it hits whatever holds it in place. Does anyone know the hardware or bushings that could be worn by now that are permitting this to occur? Not interested in spending another $1k at the dealer nor replacing the system with standard coils. Thank you!
