Hey Everyone, I bought my 2011 Suburban 2500 LT ex Fire Chief truck a little over a week ago... Since I bought it, there have been 2 warning messages on the screen.

One is:
Service Parking Aid

The other is:
Service Trailer Brake Controller

Are either of these common for our trucks? I plan to get it checked out, but I just want to go in knowing a range of what the issues might be.

Thanks

Sometimes a large trailer hitch can cause this (service parking aid) problem as the sensors in the bumper see it as a problem. If not then the sensors can go bad or there is a wiring/voltage problem to them from the ecm. As for the "trailer brake issue" check the web for this particular message as there is quite a few fixes including reprogramming.

I doubt your grounding wire behind your truck has deteriorated but after many years mine did (salt belt). 2003 Suburban LT. Had intermittent issues with trailer lights. It was an aluminum braided strip.
