Are you talking about the door moldings that protect against door dings? If you go to my albums you can see my truck with and without them.

Is yours black with a chrome strip? If so scotchbrite the chrome and paint the chrome part black. In '05 GMC's had a narrow chrome strip, we took those and painted them black for customers that had Chevy's and liked the GMC narrow strip. They came in a kit from GMC. Back then it was about $100.00 for the kit.

No my truck is tan. But I'm doing everything in black. Will get truck painted down the road. They are tan now but sun faded. Do you think painting them is a better option than buying new black ones? I personally hate chrome that's why I'm doing everything in black

Is your truck a crew cab? if so i just took mine off my 2010 and they are black with no chrome but they are a glossy type black. i would sell them to you if you would like to take a look at them and se what you think or i can send you a picture of them. But if you have an extended cab then you could always try to find some black ones off a wrecked truck that are still in good shape. they would be cheap. or LMC would definately have them!

Mine is a 05 crew cab. How much would you want for them? Because I have a feeling I'm going to mess this painting thing up haha

Last Questions. Once I get them off tomorrow should I sand them at all? And what should I use to adhere them back on the truck?

I'm new to doin stuff to trucks so all help is greatly appreciated

You need a roll of 3M two sided tape to reinstall. You can fined this at most auto parts stores. We used a scotchbrite pad to scuff up the moldings before paint.

i didnt end up doing it...im leaving for iraq friday so i decided to wait until i get back...i think it would look weird without the black rims and fender trim...figured i would wait until i get back and do it all at once....

so far ive done all the window guards and bug guard....44 series flow masters with the back tips...while im deployed im getting black rims, swampers, 3 inch lift, black fender trim, bully bar, black nerf bars, and rhino lining the bed....
