Silv Vortec 4.3 vs Tund 3.4 vs F150 4.2
Was wondering if any of you guys with the 99-04Vortec V6, have had encounters-or friends with the 2000 or 2001 Tundra with that 3.4 V6.
I am looking at the 99-04Tundra, Silverado and F150 (and possibly with extd cabs)in the 2000 to 2004 range for my next truck. I am wondering how that 3.4 fairs against the GM 4.3 or Ford 4.2. I have owned the Vortec 4.3 and 4.2before, so I know what they're like as far as acceleration. Toyota makes a good truck, but I'm just concerned that the 3.4 isn't gonna cut it as far as acceleration/power goes. I'm putting a cap of about 9000 bucks on the purchase. Give or take.
Also since gasoline isn't gonna get any cheaper:gasp:, my next truck is gonna get 20 mpg or I don't want it! Which I know the 4.3 will do that.
And yes, I've considered the Colorado. But I love the room in full size trucks!
