slow throttle response

hello everyone! one problem i am having is that when i put the pedal to the floor the truck almost seems to hesitate then few seconds later it seems to be balls to the wall! i have read about certain reasons reguarding some different style of throttle? i am not sure what kind it is. it is really sad because sometimes if im pulling into traffic i kinda need some BALLS right away. i would think for a newer truck it would be alot more responsive? is there any way to make it better or improve? i still have factory warranty as well as the GM certified warranty.

oh by the way the truck is a 2007 silverado LT 4.8L extended cab

Thats normal....you can improve it however. I changed my stock 3.23 gears for 4.11...now i dont have to mash the pedal to the floor to get her to get up and go.

I have a 2008 Sierra with the 4.8 vortec so i know what your going through!

thats the 4.8 for you....I changed the stock gears in mine from 3.23 to 4.11 gears and that problem went away...more pick up off a dead stop and getting on the freeway I dont have to put the pedal through the floor.
Most likely you are dealing with the slow and laggy electronic throttle. Edelbrock makes a faster TB unit that opens quicker. It also may need a software update to allow the throttle to open quicker. The trucks of today are geared twards fuel economy and since they make so much power they PCM wont open the throttle wide on the line to keep the drivetrain intact.
thanks guys for your response. i plan on towing a 24" camper in the next few weeks and im kinda torn if i should mess with gear changes or should i go with a cold air intake? im not looking to make the truck a hot rod, im just looking to get a little more pep! i also plan on changing the muffler out for better sound. any suggestions ? i am not a mechanic but i enjoy doing improvements and small repairs. also should i take the truck to the dealer to try to reprogram, cause it is still under factory warranty, or will they just tell me that the slow throttle response is normal ?
In '07 they made the NBS and classic body style trucks. Most likely its the torque management. If you have a classic body style a Diablo Preditor programmer will let you remove the torque management. I used one on my '05 to remove the TM. Makes a big differance.
i have the new body style, i also was just at the dealer yesterday and was told nothing is wrong. there wasnt any codes or lights coming up, i was told they installed the most recent update and after picking the truck up after a few hours drove it home and there is no difference. will a cai make it more responsive?
I put a cai on my 06 LT. I still have to punch it for a fast merge but man it sounds good when I do it and I swear it puts you back in the seat more. Plus I didnt like the stock air box. The intake opening on it is a small hole mashed against the inside of the fender. The engine was dying to breath. If you get a cai, clean the throttle body before you put it on. Check your spark plugs and wires. How many miles? Are the plugs and wires original? Run some seafoam through the vac. system. You might be suprised. I was. I also want to get rid of the stock muffler but I just got myself a Mustang. Sorry guys. My wife said ,"Good, now you'll leave the truck alone"? I told her, "For now."
