You may be able to get a plastic pry bar like this and lift the speaker bezel out. Maybe you can see it better then?

Ok, I thought it might be a TB, that entire trim strip will come out.
The strip runs across the front of the dash and will lift out in one piece.
Just use one of the plastic pry tools Greg posted

Ok so I've removed the front strip and side strip, I'm pretty sure it fell down into this hole, where would this lead to?

Is that on the right side (passenger), if so, it's probably part of the heat/ac Assembly.

Is/was this something important?

You might see down into the hole from outside looking through the windshield.

Since it wasn’t the defrost ductwork, then it’s possible it landed on the heater plenum, or behind the kick panel.

I was replacing the dash in my ‘95 truck and I dropped a 13mm bolt that secured the main dash frame to the door post. Had to pull the kick panel off to retrieve it. Different scenario as it was right by the door post, but who knows?
