It really all depends on the vehicle that is in question. I take it that you're looking for something for your suburban with the 350 in it? If that's the case, I've always loved Flowmaster 40 series mufflers on a small block chevy. It's the perfect sound!

Me too! Nothing wakes up a mouse motor like flowmasters. Mild cam and its almost a sic combo.

Try flowmaster 50 series... beautiful sound, with minimal interior resonation... they even have a muffler designed specifically for suv's. You can also hear sound bytes on their website.

P.S. Headers REALLY help with the sound...

I have the 50 series on my truck. It has a real nice tone but if you want really loud, go with the 40 series...it sounds really nice but is LOUD, esspecially if your running headers.

how about this i want a soft rumble like that T/A had in that one video but a little quieter... now would a pair of stock mufflers from a later model suburban with some headers and no cats sound good? bcuz i really want that sound in that video of that black T/A.

My truck with the 50 series flowmaster sounds about the same. It isn't really loud but it has a good tone. It is quiet inside of the truck with the windows up. I have a cat and stock exhaust manifolds installed. It may be different for you're truck, but my exhaust is set up with 1 muffler with one inlet and two outlets. I don't think that true duals are too common, esspecially in smog control areas.
As far as you running headers and no cats, just about anything you run is gonna be real loud, even a stock muffler. But I would still get some flowmaster exhaust either way. Just know the 3 chamber is quieter than the two chamber.
