Lately my pickup, Chevy K3500LT DRW w/Duramax-Allison package, has had issues starting. When I turn the key on I hear a series of clicks coming from the engine compartment. Sometimes it does this with a couple of turns of the key then starts right up. After it starts up the clock has reset. I check the cables on both batteries and they are tight. Any ideas what this is?

The clock resetting it self is diff. You said that you checked the cables, Check the volts or cranking power of the batt. Put volt meter on batt. have someone try to start it. If yours is 12, then it shouldn't come much lower than 10?

Yep sounds like a battery with some bad cells, they wont hold a load.
Auto Zone will do a free load check on your battery.

Did you check the cable connections on the starter?

I had that problem with an F150 we had.

Could also be a bad spot on the starter. That you can have tested at most parts stores. Problem is, you have to remove the starter.
