I'm noticing some play in my steering on my 2003 Silverado 1500 2wd. My wife's been driving it, and I haven't driven it in months. The steering wheel turns about 3/4 inch before I feel it actually start to steer the truck. The intermediate shafts are all tight, and I watched from under the truck the shaft turn before catching by the rack and pinion system.

So, is this normal? Have I just forgotten since I haven't driven it? I jacked up the truck and moved each wheel side to side and felt no play there.
