gmpartsclub. Has anyone ever dealt with this company before? I'm looking into a project for replacement carpet.

looks nice but seems a little spendy at $300,
You'll have to keep us posted on this, I could sure use a new front carpet, way too much coffee on the floor. (64 oz from Super America tipped over twice) ;-(
Yeah, I've got more than one coffee stain as well. I've been busy with the house and other stuff that I haven't been able to get to this project.

I think that house projects are going to come first for now. First project it to put a double gate on the fence so I can have access to the backyard. I found someone that has some 12' live oak trees that they are giving away, so that's project #2. Then I have to haul away a load or two of trash from our remodeling project that I did after we bought this joint. Next, I then need to figure out what type of workshop I want to build.... maybe sometime this year I'll get to some auto projects!
Glad to hear that I am not the only one that "occasionally" gets sidetracked. My wife acts like no one else in the world gets diverted from a task. ;-)

I find the easiest way to not get yelled at for getting sidetracked is to not start anything in the first place... Of course that leads to a whole new reason to get yelled at.
Well, I should take a picture of the garage, it's a disaster. I'm thinking of getting a full garage unit so that I don't have to build my own.

Here is the Coleman line:

Home Depot has a rubbermaid line that looks good and one of them has something called the gladiator line which looks promissing.
we should have a "shop gallery", it would be nice to get ideas from what everybody else has for a shop.
When you do go to order new carpet, let us know who you go with; I am looking to fab a rear seat delete for my car and I would like to cover it in factory(ish) carpeting.

And believe me, I understand when it comes to house stuff taking priority. I need to finish laying the hardwood floors, lay the tile in the bathrooms and entry way, and install/paint/cut my baseboards. Oh, and buy new furniture and appliances. After that, I can really start having fun with the toys again.

I'll also be sure to get some shots of the garage, with the Sub and the car tucked away. Gladiator makes some great stuff; I have one of their 8' workbenches sitting in a box waiting to be assembled. Also look at the Craftsman floor cabinets too, I have one of those as well sitting in a box.

Stear clear of the of the live oaks and get some water oaks if you can

We have some hundred + year live oaks and they are pretty but the darn pollen is a killer every morning I go out there is yellow all over the burb when you wash it off it looks like yellow paint!

The water oaks are not as bad and have a smoother bark and less pollen none of the long strings
Yeah, but my wife loves Live Oaks and she loves things that are free. So she really loves free live oaks.

Yeah, I agree. Less pollen is good, also these are going to be very slow growing as well and I think we'll only be here like 3-5 years at the most, so we'll see.

Yeah, I saw some of the craftsman stuff at sears the other day. I think those might be in the running too. Either way I would like to get something that will give a built-in look and will all look the same.
I got a "rug doctor" today and I think I managed to salvage my carpet !!! The water in the holding tank afterward would have literally made you cry. It was BLACK almost like the oil that I changed tonight....

Anyway, well spent $40.
Hmm, that might be an idea too...
Hopefully today I will get the garage cleaned out enough. I have some pictures of what it looked like BEFORE, but we've been SOOO busy that I can't get to the project.

Not to mention this: The city I live in is Arlington, TX. They only take trash when it comes to them in plastic bags on the curb. You can't put a trash can out there. You can't put trash out in anything that's oddly shaped like a pile of carpet or whatever. They will only lift 50 lb bags and it can't be construction debris!

This makes cleaning my garage a LOT more difficult! Let me tell you!

I'll post some pics of the garage momentarily.
Thanks for the great idea! I'm renting a carpet cleaner to clean a rug for my daughter. I'm going to clean the Suburban's carpet too before I return the cleaner. Not that I would have sprung for new carpets, but it sure would be nice to have a cleaner looking interior.
Let us know how it works out.
I washed my Suburban's carpets with a rented Rug Doctor. (Well, my son washed the carpets but I did rent the cleaner.) It got a lot of dirt out--the cleaning fluid was BLACK. But it did very little for the overall appearance because of all the stains. They didn't come out. I'm now going to look for a spot cleaner. Does anyone have any suggestions? My main problem is the same as a previous poster--the splashed coffee stains. Oh, my son cleaned the cloth seats also and they do look pretty good now.
