GM owners beware. I had to learn this the hard way. Don't let shops rip you off!! If you have ever been driving down the road and suddenly your speedometer ,rpm gauge ,your shift indicator light goes out , the check engine light and check gauges light comes on and your stuck in 3rd gear no matter what you do. A.K.A (limp mode )lol so you pull over shut off the truck and restart it and boom the problem is gone. It kept happening every other day. I went and hooked up the OBD11 and im getting like 4 to 5 transmission codes . Codes like tcc circuit , tcc pwm , shift solenoids 1-2 , 3-4 . Now do not take your truck or car to a transmission shop thinking you have a problem with the trannsmission . The problem is your ignition switch in the steering colum !!!! But if you have just one of your transmission codes coming up chances are it is a problem in the tranny. But if you get all tranny codes coming on at once its the ignition switch not the tranny ! Shops will not tell you this. And yes sadly I did get ripped off and had my tranny rebuilt like an idiot just to have the problem come back a week later.. After researching online for hours I finnaly found out that there was a recall on many late model GM trucks andd cars. And mine was one of them on the list lol. I bought the part at autozone for 100 bucks and I installed it myself in about an hour and I'v never had the problem again. I wanna hear from anyone who has had this problem also.

Yep aint that the truth. That's why I like to do most repairs myself lol I don't have a fancy garage or a huge tool set but I have the basics . I love the satisfaction of fixing things and saving money by doing repairs myself ! And I've fixed a lot of things on my Sierra over the years.

Man it would have been nice to find this thread when I was having this intermittent problem. I however have an awesome tranny shop that diagnosed it as the ignition switch after I did a years worth of troubleshooting and was pulling my hair out.

So it could also be the prndl fuse, the tranny plug has came loose or has a bad connection or it's the ignition switch. Mine was the ignition switch.

I've got a "really talented" mechanic I know. Has the most amount of Jasper engine sales in the region... Goes on Jasper sponsored trips all the time...
I don't like working on anything newer than 1986 myself, but man, I'll give any of my vehicles a college try before I send it off to a mechanic. And most certainly not that mechanic.
