:sign0016:Sounds like a short circuit. Could be a bad ground. New paint can inhibit the normal ground path. I had a neighbor whose chassis/engine ground straps had corroded, which wasn't a problem until he painted the truck. The increased resistance in the ground path caused the speedo cable to become the primary ground. After replacing 3 cables over a period of a few months we discovered the problem with the chassis/engine ground straps. Start by checking your battery ground cable, and then take a closer look at the work the body shop did.
