I have searched and can't find the exact answer I am looking for. I am in need of new tires and I want to get a bit more aggressive tires. I have an 05 Silverado z71 with the stock 265/65/17s on it. I am putting on the readylift leveling kit tomorrow or Saturday. Would I be able to fit 285/70/17 tires on my truck without it rubbing? I have found a relatively good deal on some Cooper Discovery STT tires and thinking about buying them but I don't want to buy tires that wont fit...

Thanks

Ya i think they were about 218 a tire for the MTZ, I found the STT's for 183 a tire, with 100$ shipping though...:(

I am beginning to have second thoughts about the STT's. I do not know how much off roading I will be getting into in the near future, and it doesnt really seem necessary to have mud tires if I don't use them for what they are designed for. I do want something I can get through rough terrain in sometimes, so I was thinking the ST or ST-C would be more up my alley. Has anyone had either of those, or all three STT, ST-C, or ST that could compare it for me? I still might go with the STT because I do have potential for some off roading, and when I work on my cabin up north it would always be nice to not worry too much about getting stuck...or just to have some fun maybe...anyway, any opinion would be nice!

Ya I was originally looking at the Revo's, but for the price I think the STT's are a better value.

Ya they are still a potential tire, but I am pretty sure I will be going with the STT's. Looks like I might be able to get them for about 830 mounted and balanced from a local shop...so thats not too bad of a deal. I will post pics with the tires, and the new leveling kit when its all done. Thanks for all of your input!

Here they are...Discoverer STT 285/70/17s. With the Readylift leveling kit.

#1 is stock, this morning at 7:00

#2 just getting home from getting the new tires installed.

#3 another shot of tires.

Readylift install...All i have to say is that I wish I would have listened to the people that said to get a GM torsion bar unloading tool...This mod would have taken me 20 minutes if I had that. A regular C-clamp just does not do the trick...it took so much longer just based on the fact that I couldnt get enough even pressure on the key itself to get the piece in there so I could install the screw...So if you are going to exchange the torsion keys out, find a way to get a GM unloading tool... Other than that everything is great.

Tires...I really like them. They have a pretty noticeable hum on the high way, but other than that they are great. I haven't had a chance to test them off road or anything though...so stay tuned!
