User Identified as Bill states the following:

I have a question on an old 85 C 10 Pickup I need help on if I may impose?
Starts fine for days, then no matter what you do, gas, starting fluid, etc it will not start at all. Replaced all inside distributor, fuel line
when it does start, it runs just like a new one. It only has 68,000 miles on it.

My questions are these....Is this a carb engine, or TBI? Is it the 4.3 V6, or a V8? Outside of replacing Distributor parts has anything else in the ignition system been replaced? Does the engine act up when it's wet, damp or humid? Has the ignition coil been replaced? Any additional details on this engine/problem would be great.

Did they make a TBI in the trucks in 85?

My 86 Burb has a carb.

After dealing with the wifes 94 and what sounded like a fuel problem, turned out to be a ign. module problem. Showed no signs of be ignition related.

I would try replaceing the module, I got the cheap one at NAPA for 34 bucks.
