What is this? It's been hanging out since I bought the truck and I still have no idea what it is for...

THE LT BLUE wire "chmsl" camper trailer 3rd lamp on the rear camper lamp ..
the OEM pig tail has to be a cap on the connector to protect the electrical connection ..
your trailer connector looks like a bumper crash ...

JCat! that's it! theres an rpo code for the camper set up I think. no idea what it is though but your probably right there. so it should be a brake light then.... easy to test that one.

ya Jacob was having some fun towing things the other day when his 7 way plug disintegrated during the journey. this got him back home and also discovered this extra plug.

Yeahhhh...I used to would say I didn't have this problem, but as of late I do. 😕

I'll try to get to testing it this weekend and pinpoint exactly what it is.

Found the same wire on mine. Here’s how it lived before your connector socket grenaded:

Leg Automotive tire Grey Bumper Automotive exterior

Tire Automotive tire Wheel Vehicle Bumper

Automotive tire Gas Engineering Auto part Automotive wheel system

Automotive tire Tire Motor vehicle Hood Tread

Pay no attention to the piercing tap. The PO put a jumper up through the stake pocket for power to the bed cap.
I’m wondering if it’s a cargo light feed?
