I have a 2007 (New Style) Chev Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.0 litre. I'm having trouble refueling the gas tank. When I remove the gas cap there is a large rush of air as though the tank was choking for air. I try to refuel and the gas nozzle keeps shutting off as though the tank is full. Any help would be appreciated!

this problem is from over filling the fuel tank then parking the vehicle after a short trip. you must check the vent lines at the vapor charcoal canister which if these lines have black goo in them means the canister and vent lines and the vent valve needs replacing.

it is possible that you could try to clean the vent valve. it may work for awhile or fix it it is all very variable as to how messed up the venting system is.

there is actually a bulletin for replacing the vent valve. these year trucks (and a few other years) came out with a vent valve with build in filter. problem is they would stuck in dirt. the new "kit" uses a new style vent valve and some hose to run a new filter up above the tranmssion away from dirt and crap.
