So last month I got a CEL and code P1516. Wiring harness looked ok, so I cleared the code and didn't have any more troubles till today.
Was slowing down to make a left turn so I was off the acc pedal, as soon as I turned the wheel the truck chugged and then died. I was able to coast thru the intersection and off the roadway. Tried to restart in N while still rolling, no crank.
Stopped, placed in park, still switch on, tried to restart again, no crank.
Turned key off for about 30 sec, turned key back on again and this time it cranked and started.
Was only about 6 blocks from the local dealer so I drove there and parked in the lot. Connected my code reader and had new codes, 3 entries of P2101 and 1 entry of P1682.

It is still covered under GM 2yr CPO warranty, and it's due for an oil change, so that's why I took it there.

I have/will leave the codes for the mechanics.

I've read that GM has have previous issues with these codes and the throttle assy, or the ECM.
Looking for opinions before I talk to the dealer on Monday to have them look at it, so I can have an idea that they aren't trying to blow smoke up my posterior.............

TIA
Scott.

Follow up, got the truck back today.
They ended up replacing the entire throttle body assy, apparently they tried to replace the actuator alone and it didn't cure the problem.
So now to drive it a bit, and work it......

I think you are the third member in a week that had a tb replaced
What kind of surprised me a bit was when I was talking with the service rep about it on Monday he told me that is would be probably 2-3days as they had already replaced 3 others just that day and were waiting for replacement parts because they were now out....

back in 2003 GM had these failures . vehicle would go into low power mode 20 MPH. drive by wire TB was changed from typical mechanical linkage........at that model year all of these had to be replaced at that time. 2010 maybe a repeat performance...

I wonder if the TB was cleaned by the previous owner or dealer used car make ready team? Those guys aren't the most experienced techs the dealer has. Very easy to maim that throttle plate motor.

One other caution I know of with the electronic TB's is to never force them open by hand to clean it. I cleaned my TB on the HHR by turning the key to on (not to start) and pressing the gas pedal to the floor. The TB should go wide open giving you the full view and room to clean. Took about 1 minute to get it clean.

How very true. Probably as much or more maiming doing that than using wrong cleaner. Old habits die hard.

Did you notice any lag between accelerator to the floor and full open? You might miss it if you weren't looking for it. Another one of GM's torque management demons. They slow down the throttle a bit.

There is one company out there - can't remember who ATM - that builds a small box to go between the TPS and the TB to eliminate the lag. Much better throttle response for those in the know.
